The EF Virgin Building | New Orleans, Louisiana This former seed warehouse sits in the heart of New Orleans. While Katrina caused significant roof and water damage, the economy around it was hit the hardest. Construction, insurance and property taxes have risen considerably and the housing market has slumped drastically. Faced with great adversity, the building's owner not only decided to repair, but he to play an active role in revitalizing the area’s economy by proposing a mix of uses that celebrate the rebirth of New Orleans. The first floor is an intimate live music venue and event space with a flexible and scalable kitchen, bar, stage and seating area. The second floor is a high end recording and photography studio intended as a one stop shop for the world ’s greatest artists. The third floor and penthouse contain the private residence, guest quarters, and rooftop living space. |
