TO US, THE KEY TO LIVING BETTER IS HEALTH, personal and public, physical and emotional. And with each of our projects, we consider all the ways that design can improve the basic factors of human health and well being. |

CLEAN INDOOR AIR
We spend about 90% of our lives indoors and the EPA estimates that air in the average home is 2-5 times higher than outside. Good design can help. In all of our projects, we look at everything from the kind of paint used to the way air moves through the whole house. We also look at the smaller, oft forgotten elements like furnishings, fabrics, and building materials.

ERGONOMICS
Back strain, arthritis, and joint pain are all a part of life, but good design can minimize their impact on your ability to live comfortably and happy. We always take care in the design and selection of furniture, cabinet hardware, door hardware, light switches, and plumbing fixtures, just to name a few.

NUTRITION
The design of your kitchen, dining space, landscape, and even your waste and recycling system can promote a better diet. The cycle of food can be designed into a home to make gardening, cooking and composting easy. Also, the design of food storage can minimize waste and keep food fresh. |

HYGIENE
Designing the cycle of water can promote better personal health. Likewise, the efficiency and functionality of a well design bathroom can easily translate into better hygiene. A compact plumbing system also decreases the distance water has to travel. Coupling that with grey water reuse and water filtration and purification can ensure a clean and long lasting water supply. |

STRESS MANAGEMENT
Now more than ever, our stress levels are effecting our personal health. Our homes should be the one place in the world where we can relieve stress. Yet, too often our homes end up adding to our stress instead. Design the rescue. Carefully designed storage can reduce clutter while making things easier to find. Individual, private spaces, can be designed as soothing, spa-like environments. Sensitive views, quiet landscapes, sound separations, color selections, and even materials and textures can all reduce stress.

AGING IN PLACE
Perhaps nothing defines our happiness more than our relationships. And your home can be designed as a place of gathering or a place that encourages interaction within your family. One of the most significant ways design can promote healthy humanity is by accomodating the ever changing needs of a family. Todays homes can go from one to two to 10 inhabitants in a matter of days. And they all may have very different ways of living. Good Design can provide flexibility and equity for people all ages, stages of life, and disabilities.

BEAUTY
In health and wellness terms, this could be called self image or cultural identification. In the design world it might be called taste, style, or aesthetic. We like to think of it as simply beauty, that unexplainable emotional resonance that occurs when something in the world communicates with you and stands as a symbol of who you are. For this reason, we never subscribe to a style, but rather we commit ourselves to finding a style that fits each of our clients. How this effects your health is as immeasurable as beauty itself, but when it's right, it lifts your spirit every day. |
