Earle Brown Center

Earle Brown Center

Located only ten minutes from downtown Minneapolis, the Earle Brown Heritage Center provides a rural agrarian setting for conventions and conferences. It includes and eleven-room bed and breakfast inn where guests and attendees can conduct modern business while reflecting on an earlier, slower-paced era.

Starting with an abandoned, deteriorating farmstead, sound buildings were relocated to form an enclosed farmyard, which serves to isolate users from the surrounding freeways and office complexes. Buildings facing on this courtyard were restored, while new support structures and parking areas were located on the perimeter. These new structures are designed to recall farm – like forms using modern materials – acting as a link between the present and the past.
