Foley-Mansfield (Detroit)

The partners at Foley & Mansfield wanted to give something back to the community which supports their growing practice in Ferndale, MI. When the time came to expand, they elected to renovate a historic school house as a means to accomplish their goal.

The new design consists of a sleek glass addition, which plays off the existing form of the building while giving focus to the older materials. The contrast between old and new is continued on the building’s interior, with every individual design decision being geared towards highlighted the building’s unique history.
